About the Author
PW Brown earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Master in Business Administration degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He’s dedicated more than half his life supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States as a naval officer and Department of Defense civil servant. He retired from the U. S. Navy at the rank of Captain. While in the Navy, he served onboard ships and a submarine, and was deployed across the globe in support of foreign campaigns throughout his 27 years of military service. At the beginning of the 21st century, while assigned to the Navy Headquarters Staff in Washington, D. C., he worked as a military analyst projecting future capabilities the Navy would need in order to meet the demands and challenges of potential conflicts 30 years and beyond. In The Power of Fear, he leverages that skillset to paint a picture of a world in 2050 shaped by decisions and views from a far-right conservative politician who wins the 2024 Presidential Election. In 2024, he resigned from his position on the Secretary of the Navy's staff to complete the fictional novel, inspired by the landmark decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which imagines a world shaped by the potential long-term impacts of current political decisions on future generations.
The Author's Journey
In June 2022, the landmark decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade, prompted the question: What will life be like for my granddaughter 30 years from now? Subsequently, PW Brown began writing The Power of Fear, a fictional yet plausible, novel exploring a world where his yet-to-be-conceived granddaughter would live as a result of today’s cultural conflicts and the reversal of many civil rights advancements. This exploration offers a glimpse into a world shaped by his imagination of the potential long-term impacts of current political decisions on future generations.

Sooner or later Draper has to make a choice or maybe life's challenges make it for him.
The Power of Fear is a chilling 'What if,' a stretch of the imagination, and a glimpse into an ultra-right-wing United States posing as a democracy and using advances in medical and ectogenesis technologies to preserve a White America.
‘Make America One Again’ – Dawson Nerium’s campaign slogan paved the way for him to win the 2024 election and become the 47th President of the United States. Nothing more than smoke and mirrors though, the slogan had nothing to do with unity but more about preserving a White America. As part of his MAOA agenda, the newly elected President eliminated all racial and ethnic classes and categorized all Americans as a percentage of whiteness.
Nearly a quarter of a century later, Nerium’s agenda is still alive and well, when his grandson, President Mason Quade, kicks off his re-election bid for the 2052 presidential race by endorsing an executive order restricting people to natural childbirth as the only method for giving life to a child. This decision is made in a world where advances in medical and ectogenesis technologies provide new methods of reproduction. The next day, President Quade’s Executive Order sparked outrage across the country, especially in the nation’s capital. Nour Mills and Karen Smith narrowly escape a barrage of bullets from an army of government-controlled police robots, who misinterpreted the actions of peaceful protestors outside the gates of the White House. Nour and Karen find refuge at George Washington University, just several blocks away. While they gather their composure to make their way back home, they encounter a man dressed in all black, who persuasively kidnaps Karen. Unbeknownst to both of them, the mysterious man is closely connected to the Oval Office.
Nour, a young African American woman, but classified by the government as a 65 Percenter on Dawson Nerium’s ‘Whiteness Scale’ applies her skills and experience as a former Naval Intelligence Officer to find Karen, her best friend and former roommate from the U.S. Naval Academy. At the same time, she embarks on a new career with a non-governmental organization. She receives her first solo assignment to meet with a Ukrainian State Department official and finalize a contract for Ukraine's post-war rebuilding efforts, following their victory over Russia nearly 30 years ago. In Odessa, she uncovers more than she should about the Puritan Project, a covert government black ops program. The Puritan Project is a longstanding Nerium Dynasty initiative that uses ectogenesis and genetic engineering of human embryos to combat the browning of America and, ultimately, transform the application of American democracy.
